RV Travel Games

Of course, I had to add a few ideas of games that you can play on RV travel days! We love to play games on long road trips to pass the time.

Here are some of the best travel games for you to try on your next camping trip!

49. I Spy

In this game, a player picks an object they can see and describes it with “I spy with my little eye something that is [color or another descriptor].”

The other players then take turns guessing what the object might be based on the clue given.

Whoever guesses the object first then takes the next round!

50. The License Plate Game

In this game, everyone collectively looks for license plates from as many different states as possible during the RV trip.

Each time a new state’s plate is spotted, it’s called out and marked off the tracker. The goal of this game is to see how many states can be found!

You can also keep the tracker in your vehicle and see how many weeks (or even months) it takes to spot every state license plate! You might be surprised how long it takes.

You can download our free License Plate Game tracker below to make it easy!

51. 20 Questions

In this game, one player thinks of an object, animal, or person and keeps it a secret. The other players then ask up to 20 yes-or-no questions to try to guess what it is.

The game continues until the object is guessed or the questions run out. Whoever guesses correctly then takes the next turn!

52. The Alphabet Game

Players look for words on signs, billboards, license plates, etc., that start with each letter of the alphabet, beginning with A and moving sequentially to Z.

The challenge is to be the first to reach the end of the alphabet!

53. Road Trip Bingo

Before the trip, prepare bingo cards with common road trip sights (like cows, bridges, or a specific type of car).

As players spot these items along the journey, they mark them off on their cards. The first person to get a complete row or pattern calls “Bingo!”

Let me know if you want me to create some scavenger hunt bingo cards like this!

A road trip through the mountains

54. Would You Rather…

In this game, players take turns asking “Would you rather” questions, presenting two scenarios.

Each participant must choose one of the options and can also explain their choice.

This game often leads to amusing and thought-provoking conversations!

55. Storytelling Round-Robin

A player starts a story with a sentence or two. Then, the next person adds to the story with their own sentence, and so on.

The story continues to build as each person contributes, often leading to unexpected and entertaining twists!

56. The Movie Game

A player names a movie, and then the next player must think of an actor from that movie.

The following player then names a different movie that the actor has been in.

The game continues on, linking movies and actors until you can’t think of any more!

An RV driving through the countryside

57. Categories

A category is chosen (like “fruits” or “capitals”), and players take turns naming items that fit into that category.

The challenge is not to repeat any items and to think of new ones as the game progresses.

You are out of the round if you accidentally name something that has already been said.

The game continues until only one final player is left, and they are the winner!

58. The Singing Game

This one is perfect if your family loves music! To start, a player sings a line from a song.

The next player must connect it with a line from a different song that contains a word from the previous line.

This game tests everyone’s knowledge of songs and lyrics, and it can be a lot of fun to see the songs that are used!

59. The Memory Game

This game starts with a player saying, “I’m going on a trip, and I’m taking [an item].”

The next player repeats the phrase and adds another item, creating an ever-growing list.

Each player must remember the entire list in order.

We played this game a lot on road trips when I was a kid, and I always loved it!

A colorful sunset sky during a road trip

60. Geography Game

This game is a different version of the movie or singing game. To start the game, a player names a geographical location (city, country, river, etc.).

The next player must then name a location that starts with the last letter of the previous place. This continues, with each location’s name starting with the last letter of the previous one.

61. Car Color Counting Game

Players choose a color and then count how many cars of that color they see within a set period or distance.

This can be a competition to see who counts the most or just a fun way to observe the surroundings.

A variation of this game is to choose one type and color of a vehicle at the beginning of your trip and then count how many you see during your drive!

62. Guess The Distance

In this RV driving game, players select a landmark or destination, and each person then makes a guess about how far away it is from them currently.

The actual distance can be checked using Google Maps on a phone.

The closest guess to the actual distance is the winner!
